On September 16-17, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will attend the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, said the presidential spokesman Sherzod Asadov at a briefing today.
Last year the SCO summit was held online due to the pandemic. This time the heads of state will hold a face-to-face meeting. The current SCO summit coincides with the 20th anniversary of the organization's.
On September 16, Shavkat Mirziyoyev will hold bilateral meetings with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, and on 17 September - with the President of Iran Ibrohim Raisi.
The Summit will take place on September 17. At the end of the negotiations, the chairmanship in the SCO will pass from Tajikistan to Uzbekistan.
On the same day, a meeting will be held in a new SCO – CSTO format, with the parties discuss the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
