On September 8, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the presidential press service said.
Reportedly, Shavkat Mirziyoyev cordially congratulated the President and the people of Tajikistan on the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, expressed sincere wishes for peace, well-being, great success and prosperity.
The counterparts also discussed the ways to further expand the Uzbek-Tajik multifaceted cooperation, primarily in the trade and economic areas.
In addition, the presidents reviewed the preparations for the upcoming meetings of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on September 16-17 this year in Dushanbe, and also exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan.
It was also agreed that the two leaders will hold a separate meeting on the bilateral and regional agenda as part of the program of the upcoming SCO summit.
