The President of Uzbekistan signed a decree by on August 28 creating a branch of the Kazan Federal University in Jizzakh city on Monday.
The branch will be engaged in:
Providing programs in geology, software engineering, economics, mechanical engineering, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and medical biochemistry;
development and implementation of projects of fundamental, scientific, practical and innovative research;
strengthening and developing long-term cooperation in the field of education and science with leading educational organizations, research centers and business communities of foreign countries.
The branch will begin admitting students from the 2022/2023 academic year. The university diploma will be recognized both in Uzbekistan and in Russia.
From the 2021/2022 academic year, Kazan Federal University, together with the Jizzakh branch of the National University of Uzbekistan, will begin training personnel in areas such as software engineering, pharmacy and information systems and technologies based on joint educational programs. Students admitted to study in these areas will continue their studies at the branch in the future.
