On August 28, the Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov hosted the Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Nakanishi Satoshi, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

Reportedly, the parties discussed the topical issues of the multifaceted Uzbek-Japanese strategic partnership in areas of mutual and underscored the importance of timely and high-quality implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level.

“An exchange of views took place on key issues of an international and regional nature, in particular the current situation in Afghanistan. The schedule and organizational aspects of upcoming bilateral events, including as part of the Central Asia + Japan dialogue were considered,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry added.

In addition, they stressed the need to take joint measures to further step up trade and economic ties, implement new investment projects and stimulate business contacts between business representatives of the two countries.
