On July 20, another batch of 1 million doses of the Chinese-Uzbek ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccine was delivered to Uzbekistan from China, the Ministry of Health said.

To date, the country has received 7.5 million doses of this jab. Also, 710 thousand doses of AstraZeneca vaccine and 370 thousand doses of the Russian Sputnik V have been accepted, bringing the total vaccine reserve to 8.58 million doses.

As of July 19, over 1 million people have undergone a full course of vaccination across the country, which is 2.9% of the population.

A total of 5.8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine were used, including the first dose received by 3.66 million people, the second - 1.55 million, the third - 581.7 thousand. On July 19, 158.1 thousand people were vaccinated, of which the first dose - 123.9 thousand, the second - 18.7 thousand and the third - 15.4 thousand.

In recent days, there has been an increase in the incidence. On Monday, 658 new cases of coronavirus were recorded (a record YTD, the day before it was 585, the total number of cases reached 120,631), as well as 465 cases of pneumonia (462), 4 people died who had coronavirus (a total of 805 deaths were officially registered).

Recently, the vaccination was made mandatory for some categories of citizens over 18 years old, including workers of shopping and service facilities, sports schools, cultural and entertainment institutions and recreation areas, military personnel, restaurants and pubs and others.

Earlier it was reported that on July 20-25, Uzbekistan should receive 4 million doses of the ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccine, 160 thousand doses of Sputnik V are expected in August, and 660 thousand doses of AstraZeneca or Moderna in August-September under the COVAX program.
