On Monday, July 19, the vice-president of the Uzbekistan MMA, the mixed martial arts fighter Murod Khanturaev died in a car accident in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent province, the Tashkent province Police Department said.

Reportedly, the accident took place at about 11:30 AM on the 68th kilometer of the 4R-12 highway, where Lacetti and BMW X5 cars collided. The latter flew off the road and turned over.

As a result of the incident, the driver of BMW X5, Murad Khanturaev, died at the scene. The passenger was hospitalized.

Murod Khanturaev, 34, began his professional career as a MMA fighter in 2013. He has a record of 10 victories (7 KOs) and two losses (2 KOs).

In October 2018, Murad Hanturaev was fined 16.2 million soums for a fight near a nightclub in Tashkent. In November of the same year, he was attacked by several unknown persons who stabbed him.

Since November 2019, he had been the vice-president of the Mixed Martial Arts Association of Uzbekistan.
