Abdurakhim Kurbonov, a deputy of the Ecological Party at the Legislative Chamber has died at the age of 47, the lower house said in a statement.
The death was caused by complications from coronavirus infection, the statement said.
Abdurakhim Kurbonov, 47, was born in Jarkurgan district of Surkhandarya province. He graduated from Termez State University in 1996 with a degree in history, sociology and state law. In the same year he began teaching at Termez State University. From 1999 to 2001 he was a graduate student, teacher, and then a senior teacher at the university.
Since 2009 he has served as deputy of the Legislative Chamber. In 2010-2019, he was a member of the Committee on Legislation, Judicial Legal Issues of the Legislative Chamber. In 2019, he took the position of a member of the Committee on Combating Corruption and Judicial and Legal Issues, and until recently served as Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian and Water Management Issues.
