Uzbekistan and Turkey are eyeing US$ 10 billion in two-way trade a year. In the coming years, the efforts will be taken to achieve this target, stated the Vice President of Turkey Fuat Aktay at a meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Tashkent.
"This year, the trade turnover is expected to reach US$ 4 billion, and by 2023 - US$ 5 billion," he added.
According to him, following the visit to Tashkent, a 58-item Action Strategy was developed, which envisages further deepening the ties between the two Turkic-speaking countries.
“One of the important aspects of the talks is the signing of a preferential trade agreement between Turkey and Uzbekistan. Ankara is ready to fully support Tashkent. Our cooperation is based on the principles of respect and mutual benefit. I am confident that 2021 will be the year of development of Turkish-Uzbek ties,” said the Turkish Vice President.
