Flights to Egypt will be launched from Uzbekistan’s several provinces, the Ministry of Transport said. On April 26, Minister of Transport Ilhom Mahkamov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan Amira Fahmy to discuss the ways to step up cooperation between the two countries in the field of civil aviation.
The parties reportedly exchanged views on the launch of regular flights from Uzbekistan to Sharm el-Sheikh, the increase in the number of Tashkent to Cairo and Tashkent to Hurghada flights by Egypt's Air Cairo, the launch of flights from Samarkand, Bukhara and Fergana provinces to Cairo.
According to the talks, in the near future the officials of the aviation authorities of the two countries and the designated airlines will meet and agree on the flights.
Earlier, it was reported that Turkish Airlines had received permit to fly from Istanbul to Urgench and Fergana.
