“Constant coverage of this topic dulls people's sensitivity. If this goes on, we will begin to accept this very unpleasant (to put it mildly) topic as the norm. In fact, we should feel intimidated when we hear such conversations. Public discussion increases the involuntary interest of some strata of society (especially adolescents, whose psyche has not yet been fully formed) to this topic. As a result, this vicious phenomenon is unconsciously absorbed by the public consciousness. Let's be guided by common sense and not give in to provocations,” he said.

Komil Allamjonov also stated that foreign organizations, "before making any demands to Uzbekistan or any other country", "must take into account the mentality, religion, culture and traditions of the nation."

“With no doubt, human rights are important, and every citizen, regardless of his views, is under the protection of the state. But in our country, where the majority are Muslims, society does not accept gays and lesbians. Our sacred religion, our culture does not allow this,” he said.

“Take, for example, Miraziz Bazarov, what did his rash statements lead to?! Even if the laws against gays and lesbians are relaxed, the society will not accept it, and they will remain only on paper," Komil Allamjonov said.

“Even when the liability is scrapped, and such groups begin to freely show themselves on the street, the number of vigilante attacks may increase significantly. Even if there is no official punishment, the society made up of Muslims will still not leave them alone. Small riots may lead to big problems. This is the answer to all the questions! " - said the former spokesman to the president and the former head of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications (AIMC).

“Democracy' means the rule of the people. Since most people are against it, their wishes must be taken into account. This is the true democracy! " - added Komil Allamjonov.

He expressed the opinion that AIMK should give a legal assessment of the cause of the events - to bloggers and their activities.

“And everyone who breached the law should be punished. I strongly condemn any illegal demonstrations and misconduct,” he noted.
