The Bukhara city prosecutor Jasur Fozilov has been dismissed from his post, the General Prosecutor's Office said. He was dismissed from office at his own free will and is now reportedly awaiting to be moved to another role.

On December 11, the Bukhara prosecutor made an appeal to the president and the head of presidential administration because of a case in which Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yuldashev was allegedly involved. He claimed that he had been suspended from office and that a probe was initiated against him when he ordered to call for questioning a representative of Mustahkam Qurilish Development, who allegedly was on good terms with the Prosecutor General. The department reported that the check is being carried out on the basis of a complaint from the business entity, who claimed to have received threats from the city prosecutor.

Then on December 14, the Republican Interdepartmental Commission was formed to study the arguments of the prosecutor.

As a result of the commission's check, Jasur Fozilov was reinstated on December 20 as the prosecutor of Bukhara city.

After reviewing the decision of the commission, he stated that the issues raised by him had been studied fairly and objectively. At the same time, the commission confirmed the shortcomings in the work of the prosecutor himself, for which he should be held accountable. On December 21, the Prosecutor General reprimanded him.

Certain issues that the prosecutor raised in his appeal were to be considered in a civil court. The commission then established that the business entities who complained about Jasur Fozilov were using the name of the prosecutor general as a cover.
