The Agency for External Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations urged the Uzbeks in Russia not to participate in mass protests in various parts of the Russian Federation and are not authorized by the authorities of this country.
The Agency's appealed to comply with Russian legislation and recommended not to be in mass gathering places.
"The participation of foreign citizens in such unauthorized activities, according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, may serve as a reason for criminal prosecution or forced deportation from the country," the statement added.
On January 23 and 31, in a number of Russian cities, mass protests were held in support of the opposition leaderAlexei Navalny. He was detained upon arrival in Moscow from Germany, where he was receiving treatment after poisoning.
On February 2, a Moscow court changed Alexei Navalny's suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case to two years and eight months in prison. After the verdict was announced, opposition supporters came out to protest on the streets of Moscow and St. Petersburg. More than 10 thousand people were detained at these protests.
