On June 30, the 86th meeting of the CIS Economic Council was held in a video conference format, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction said. Uzbekistan has been chairing the CIS since January 1.
The parties reportedly reviewed the preparation progress of a development plan during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic was on Tuesday.
The action plan of the first stage of the CIS Economic Development Strategy until 2030 is designed for 2021−2025.
The Economic Council also approved and submitted for consideration by the Council of the Heads of Government of the CIS a plan of measures to implement a strategy for ensuring transport security in the Commonwealth when carrying out international traffic for 2020–2025.
The meeting also approved an action plan for the implementation of the concept of cooperation of the CIS countries in the field of combating cancer for 2020–2024 and a decision on financial support for the activities of the Commonwealth in 2020.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the 87th meeting of the CIS Economic Council will be held on September 11 in Tashkent.
The CIS Economic Development Strategy until 2030 was approved at the end of May at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS countries in a video conference format. The document reflects the coordinated approaches of the countries of the Commonwealth regarding goals, main tasks, areas of cooperation and mechanisms of interstate cooperation in the economic sphere.
