The rail track laying began on the Tashkent’s Sergeli metro line, Uzbekistan Railways reported. The line is scheduled to be commissioned in September this year.
“According to the project, the total length of the Sergeli line is 6.94 kilometers and consists of the Chosh-Tepa, Tashkent Ring Road, Sergeli, Afrosiyob, Qipchoq and Chinor stations,” said Soyibjon Juraev, Head of the Authority for Construction of Lines of the Tashkent Metro Unitary Enterprise “Tashkent Metro”.
The construction of the foundation for installation of escalators at stops, brick laying, the façade works with marble, and the laying of wires for electric lighting are also being completed. Work continues on the installation of fences for the passenger platform and of metal structures.
It should be noted that the Chosh-Tepa station is connected to Olmazor underground station of the Chilanzar line. About 600 meters of rail track was laid from the Tashkent Ring Road station to the Sergeli station.
