Starting July 1, the border guard troops of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan (SSS BG) will receive preliminary information about passengers of foreign airlines flying to Uzbekistan, the State Tourism Development Committee said in a statement.
This step has been approved by a government decree in accordance with the standards and practice of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the statement said.
The foreign aviation authorities and foreign carriers will reportedly be notified of the introduction of a new procedure. Preliminary information about passengers will be processed according to the system developed by the SSS BG, the statement noted.
“The introduction of this procedure will create additional conveniences for foreign tourists to enter, stay and leave the territory of the republic,” the State Committee for Tourism said.
Earlier, Deputy PM/Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism, Aziz Abdukhakimov, said that it is planned to introduce a system of Red, Yellow and Green flights as part of the Uzbekistan. Safe travel GUARANTEED.
“From countries with serious epidemiological situation, only “red” flights will be operated only for evacuation of Uzbek citizens. Yellow flights will be operated from countries with average level of epidemiological danger. Flights may be carried out on a more regular basis, but all passengers will still be quarantined,” the head of the State Committee for Tourism said.
