Uzbekhydroenergo announced a call for bids for the design and construction of Rabat, Chappasuv and Tamshush hydroelectric power stations on Aksu River in the Kashkadarya province, the company said in a statement.

The Government of Uzbekistan received support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Sustainable Hydropower Project. Part of this funding will be used for the design and construction of these hydropower plants.

Uzbekistan has adopted the Hydropower Further Development Program for 2017-2021, according to which the generating capacities of Uzbekhydroenergo is to be increased by 13.7 times by 2025 through the construction of new hydropower plants.

The construction of the Rabat and Chappasuv hydropower plants with a design capacity of 11.9 MW is estimated at US$ 80.4 million, the Tamshush hydropower plant (11 MW) - at US$ 33 million.
