From 00:01 AM today, the ingress and egress from Tashkent city of all types of transport will be closed, including buses, cars, aircraft and rail transport. This decision was taken on Monday by the Special Republican Commission for the Control of Coronavirus, according to the Koronavirus Info Telegram channel.
The restriction on ingress and egress from the capital of Uzbekistan does not apply to freight transportation. Only citizens permanently residing (having residence inscription) in Tashkent will be allowed to enter the city.
The statement said that the decision was made in order to ensure the sanitary-epidemiological well-being of the population and to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus throughout the country.
