Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Measures to further reduce bureaucratic barriers and introduce modern management principles in the state bodies decree.
According to the decree, a set of measures is expected to be adopted in Uzbekistan, providing for:
- meetings by state organizations may be convened exclusively by the relevant civil servants, or on agenda related to state secrets and other secrets;
- preventing attendance to meetings at the central office of state bodies of public servants from provinces, to meetings at the province centers of public servants of district (city) levels with holding of video conferences instead;
- giving up the practice of holding meetings by state organizations in weekends and holidays, with the exception of cases of holding meetings due to emergency:
- preventing attendance to meetings and assigning unusual tasks or engaging employees (except for the purpose of providing services) who provide public services (meetings with their participation can be held directly by higher organizations solely on improving their activities in hours, not affecting the quality of service).
Earlier, the Prime Minister instructed state bodies and local authorities to develop specific working regulations. The corresponding document was signed on August 24, 2018. The document says that activities should be carried out for 1-1.5 hours only on schedule, at most 2-3 times a week. If this is an event of national importance, then a maximum of 2 hours.
