On November 18, 2019, the aviation authorities of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan held talks in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif (Afghanistan). The delegation of the Uzbekistan Ministry of Transport was hosted by the Director of the Law and International Treaties of the Afghan Civil Aviation Authority, Khalilullah Abavi.

The parties reportedly discussed the ways to further advance mutually beneficial cooperation and increase flights between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan and expanding the geography of assigned airlines.

Following the talks, the sides reached agreement for launching Mazar-e-Sharif to Tashkent flights.

The Afghanistan authorities side expressed readiness to launch Mazar-e-Sharif to Tashkent regular flights (approximately in December of this year) after the completion of the relevant organizational and technical procedures of the Kam Air Airline, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan said.
