The Tashkent City Mayor Jahongir Ortiqkhojaev hosted a delegation led by Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavaş. The parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding, Cooperation and the Elevating of Fraternal Ties to a new level.
The Mayor Ortiqkhojaev noted that the document is of great importance for long-term and friendly relations between the two countries and two cities and will help strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation in industrial sectors, urban planning, art, culture and tourism areas.
Mansur Yavaş emphasized that there are currently three streets in Ankara named Uzbekistan, 12 streets named Tashkent, 8 Samarkand, 11 Bukhara, and suggested that one of the Tashkent streets be named after Ankara.
The Ankara mayor’s office delegation also visited the Tashkent’s historical and modern sights.
