The Uzbekistan military delegation, headed by Deputy Defense Minister Azizbek Ikramov, is visiting the United States from September 9 to 13, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The sides discussed the ways to advance bilateral contacts in the field of military education and further advancing bilateral ties between military educational institutions of the two countries.
In addition, Azizbek Ikramov met with the president of the U.S. National Defense University, Vice-Admiral Fritz Roegge, with the parties expressing interest in the joint training of military research senior officers.
The Uzbekistan delegation also familiarized himself with the University’s infrastructure, the general system of approaches to training military personnel, as well as with the basic principles of curriculum development for professional military education courses, the statement added.
The delegation also met with the director of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Middle East and South Asia, Thomas Wolfe, the member of the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress, Trent Kelly, and with the representative of the US Department of Defense, Amer Latif, while from September 11 to 13, the delegation will visit the US Army Military Carlisle School, Pennsylvania.
