On January 9, the Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov received the Afghan Foreign Ministry delegation led by Deputy Minister, Hekmat Khalil Karzai.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral affairs, as well as the schedule of upcoming contacts, a statement of Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
On the same day was held the first round of the Uzbek-Afghan political consultations between foreign ministries at the deputy ministers level, in which the actual aspects of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, trade, transport and communication, cultural, humanitarian and other areas were discussed.
During the consultations, it was noted that Uzbekistan and Afghanistan are interested in bringing bilateral relations to a new level based on respect, mutual interests of each other.
The sides also discussed pressing international and regional issues.
