President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev today spoke with the President-elect of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev over the phone, the Uzbek President’s press service said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated Kasym-Jomart Tokayev on his landslide victory in the presidential elections.
The election results reportedly once again demonstrated the complete trust and wide support of the Kazakh people to the new President, and the contribution of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for Kazakhstan’s sustainable development.
It was stressed that a new impetus to advancing of bilateral cooperation was given by the first state visit of the Kazakh President to Uzbekistan in April, during which the parties reiterated their commitment to strengthen the ties of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership.
The two leaders also discussed topical issues of Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation, as well as the regional and international issues.
The schedule of upcoming summits, including in the framework of multilateral organizations was also reviewed.
The two presidents once again highlighted the priority nature of the consistent development and strengthening of the strategic partnership ties and multi-faceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
