The new President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has accepted the invitation of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and will visit Uzbekistan on a two-day state visit, the Presidential press service said.
The two leaders will hold talks in narrow and extended formats and are expected to discuss the ways to further enhance friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership ties.
They will also reportedly consider priority areas of cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, transport and communication, cultural, humanitarian and other fields and will exchange views on deepening regional cooperation and key international issues.
Following the meeting, the Presidents will adopt a joint statement, with a package of bilateral accords to be signed.
The presidents will also attend the official opening of the Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan, which will begin with a concert of Kazakh performers.
