On January 29-30, the Uzbek Defense Minister held a meeting with the leadership of the Central Command of the United States Armed Forces in Tampa, Florida, the Defense Ministry’s said.
As reported earlier, the Uzbekistan delegation led by the Defense Minister watched the Southern Strike joint exercise, in which participated the special unit of the Uzbek Defence Ministry.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the ways of maintaining security and stability in the Central Asian region and cooperation in the training of military personnel, joint and international exercises, trainings, as well as other topical issues of cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries.
At the US Central Command, the Uzbek delegation familiarized itself with the functions of the Joint Strategic Assessment Team and the Coalition Coordination Center. That was the end of their official visit.
