The Uzbek Ambassador stationed in Ankara, Alisher Agzamhodjaev, presented his credentials to the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.
After the ceremony, which took place in the building of the Presidential Administration of Bulgaria, the parties held a conversation. The President Radev reportedly commended the current state of bilateral ties, pointing to the untapped potential.
He expressed confidence that the enhanced contacts in the last two years will further strengthen the the bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields.
The parties expressed mutual interest in fulfilling the agreements reached during last year’s meeting of the two leaders in New York, including on stepping up cooperation in agriculture, higher education, and high technologies areas.
Radev stated that Uzbekistan is Bulgaria’s friendly, reliable and promising partner in the region, and also expressed his country's readiness to elevate the Uzbek-Bulgarian relations to a qualitatively new level in all areas of mutual interest.
President Rumen Radev conveyed sincere greetings and deep respect to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and confirmed that the Bulgarian side plans to organize the Uzbek leader’s visit to Bulgaria in 2019.
