The high level of relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea has laid a solid foundation for cooperation of postal companies of the two countries.
In late April 2016, the first contacts between the leadership of O’zbekiston Pochtasi (Uzbekistan Post) with the chief executives of Korea Post were held in Seoul, following which Korea Post has been assigned to work out the FS for Uzbekistan Postal Modernization and the priority areas for cooperation have been identified.
On December 15, 2016 the General Director of Uzbekistan Post Sh. Atamuhamedov met with the delegation of Korea Post, headed by its President Mr. Kim Ki Deok.
The Korea Post official arrived in Tashkent to make the final presentation of Feasibility study for Uzbekistan Postal Modernization.
Following the talks, the parties agreed that the presented FS can be regarded as a "roadmap" for further development of Uzbekistan postal services through significantly improving the quality of postal operations, postal logistics system, introduction of ICTs and new postal services.
