President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree Saturday raising wages to budget-financed organizations from November 1, as well as pensions, scholarships and benefits by an average of 10%.

As of November the minimum wage will be 202,730 soums (now – 184,300 soums). However this doesn't mean that the miimum wage in Uzbekistan is 202,730 soums. There are categories of wages each having a coefficient. Hence, category I, being the lowest national wage for a full time position, cannot be less than the 2.6*Minimum wage which equals to about 527,000 UZS, or US$ 64.

Other organizations are free to increase salaries by improving production efficiency and reducing labor costs.

Prior to this, the minimum was was raised on July 15, 2018 by 7%.

Earlier, the Statistics Committee reported that price index in September increased by 1.8%, and year –to-date - by 8.1%.
