Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his congratulatory message to Shavkat Mirziyoyev on victory in the Presidential election called him "dear friend."
"I want to express my immense joy from the fact that these elections, which have become a manifestation of the will of the friendly and fraternal Uzbek people, took place in an environment of trust and peace", - the message reads.
"I am confident that through our joint efforts aimed at advancing the bilateral relations we will raise our cooperation to a higher level, thus serving the interests of our fraternal peoples. I believe that my visit to Samarkand on November 18 will further intensify our relations, which draw their strength from our links, dating back to centuries, and which are now developing on the basis of common interests", - the President of Turkey said. He expressed gratitude for the attention and hospitality to the Turkish delegation in Samarkand.
"I want to assure You that I would be immensely happy to welcome You, Your Excellency, on an official visit to our country in the near future and to visit Your beautiful country once again, which I am sure will be a new page in our fraternal relations", - he added.
On the same day, at the initiative of the Turkish side, a telephone conversation between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took place. As UzA said, the two leaders confirmed their interest in enhancing cooperation between the foreign ministries, ministries and economic entities. In the near future it is planned to hold the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Following the agreements reached in Samarkand Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has set specific areas for implementing mutually beneficial investment projects with the Turkish companies.
The two leaders also agreed to exchange official visits and gave relevant instructions to the interested ministries and agencies.
