Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov today hosted the visiting delegation of the World Congress of Bukharian Jews (WCBJ) led by its President Lev Leviev, the ministry said.
The delegation includes the president of the Congress of Bukharian Jews of the USA and Canada Boris Kandov, the president of the Congress of Bukharian Jews of Russia Yakov Leviev and others.
The sides reportedly discussed the state and prospects of bilateral ties, and noted the interaction between our peoples has a long history, which began many centuries ago, when Jewish communities came to the present-day Uzbekistan. Over the centuries, Bukharian Jews lived in peace and harmony, and found their home in the Uzbek land.
Uzbekistan appreciates the fact that people from Uzbekistan living in Israel, the United States and other countries do not cut off ties with our country, maintaining a sincere and deep respect for the Uzbek people, contribute to the consistent strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation and expanding relations for the benefit of our peoples .
The WCBJ delegation expressed gratitude and highly commended the adoption of the Decree of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev allowing up to 30 days visa-free entry into Uzbekistan for the Israeli citizens, with the immigrants from Uzbekistan accounting for over 100 thousand people.
