A female suspect stabbed two nurses at a district maternity hospital in Kushtepa, Fergana Region, leaving one dead and another injured on Monday. Reports indicate that the assailant allegedly locked the nurses inside a room before carrying out the knife attack.
The motive behind the assault and further operational details remain undisclosed.
Hayot Shamsutdinov, the spokesperson for the General Prosecutor's Office, confirmed the incident. According to the official, the Kushtepa District Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal investigation on September 7 under Article 97 of the Criminal Code (intentional homicide).
The suspect has been detained and placed in custody under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
