Uzbekistan Airports has implemented preferential tariffs for handling cattle, sheep and goats imported into Uzbekistan by air, the company announced.
The new rates cover the acceptance and unloading of livestock, their placement, and cargo handling services at designated airports. According to the company, the move is designed to reduce costs for businesses using airport services, particularly for those importing livestock in large shipments.
The preferential tariffs were deployed as part of steps outlined in the May 12, 2026 presidential decree aimed at developing the livestock sector and encouraging the import of livestock by air. Cargo recipients can obtain detailed information on the tariffs, application procedures and service conditions from Uzbekistan's international airports.
The company said the reduced rates will make air transport of livestock more accessible for businesses and help expand cargo operations at Uzbek airports.
As part of broader efforts to develop the livestock sector, Uzbekistan will allocate state budget subsidies from September 1, 2026 through January 1, 2030 to help cover the costs of maintaining identified purebred female breeding cattle at livestock farms.
The government also plans to launch a system for importing large and small cattle from abroad, delivering them to farms and households, and providing veterinary care, feeding, artificial insemination and breeding services for a minimum of 12 months.
