An official Uzbek delegation led by First Deputy Foreign Minister Bakhromjon Aloev arrived in Tehran on August 17, the Foreign Ministry reported.
Aloev met with the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The two sides discussed the development of bilateral relations, ways to strengthen political dialogue, and cooperation on trade, economic and investment matters.
Separate discussions covered transport and transit links, cultural and humanitarian ties, mechanisms for intergovernmental cooperation, and contacts between the business communities of the two countries.
Following the meeting, the Uzbek and Iranian foreign ministry delegations held political consultations. Participants discussed prospects for practical cooperation, as well as coordination within international and regional organizations.
At the conclusion of the talks, both parties affirmed their interest in strengthening bilateral relations and maintaining regular political dialogue.
