Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov received copies of the credentials of Simone Gigier, the new Swiss Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Tuesday.
Saidov wished the Ambassador success in her diplomatic work and reaffirmed the Foreign Ministry's full support for efforts to strengthen relations between Uzbekistan and Switzerland.
The two sides discussed stepping up political dialogue, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, deepening industrial partnerships, and advancing new joint projects.
Gigier succeeds Konstantin Obolensky, who completed his five-year diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan in June.
