Authorities in Tashkent have taken action against two motorcyclists who committed serious traffic violations in the capital. One was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest for resisting police and refusing to comply with lawful orders, while the other was fined for driving at excessive speed within city limits.
The first case stemmed from a video circulating on social media that showed a motorcyclist ignoring a traffic officer's signal to stop, continuing to ride while filming and later sharing the footage online.
According to court documents, the 26-year-old rider, identified as I.M., refused to comply with lawful orders from police officers who had approached him to draw a violation sheet and impound the motorcycle. He shouted at officers in the street, actively resisted them, and disturbed public order.
At the court hearing, the man admitted guilt and asked for leniency. He was found to have violated Article 183 (Criminal damage) and Part 1 of Article 194 (Failure to comply with lawful demands of a police officer) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, and was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest.
It later emerged that he did not even hold a Category A driver's license, which is required to legally operate a motorcycle.
