On June 21, a video footage surfaced on social media showing the detention of the so-called blogger Heydar Aliyev, aka Gonzo G. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has since issued an official statement addressing the incident.

According to the ministry, misleading information regarding the circumstances of the case and the specific charges filed is being actively spread, orchestrated by the individual held administratively liable.

The MIA states that on June 13, during a crowded public festival, Aliyev was filming aggressively and provocatively among the attendees, as reported by victims and witnesses during the judicial investigation. When one of the visitors asked not to be filmed, the blogger ignored the request and continued recording. Aliyev accompanied his refusal with profanity and explicit language, which triggered a confrontation. The victim then sought assistance from law enforcement officers on duty at the event.

When personnel from the police and the National Guard stepped in to resolve the disturbance, Aliyev caused a scene and refused to comply with their lawful demands. The non-compliance was officially documented on-site.

The internal affairs bodies subsequently received a formal complaint from the citizen involved in the initial altercation. Law enforcement agencies also received a separate complaint from another citizen, demanding that the blogger be held accountable for illegally leaking and distributing their personal data online, the MIA stated.

On June 20, the court thoroughly examined the administrative case against Aliyev, hearing testimonies from both the accused and the victims. Following the review, the court found the blogger guilty under Part 1 of Article 194 (Failure to comply with the lawful demands of a police officer), Part 1 of Article 46-2 (Violation of personal data legislation), and Article 183 (Petty criminal damage) of the Code of Administrative Liability.

For the combined offenses, the court ordered a fine of 12 base reference values, equivalent to 4,944,000 soums, along with 5 days of administrative arrest. Following the verdict, the blogger was taken into custody directly from the courtroom to serve his sentence.
