For the upcoming 2026–2027 academic year, more than 795,000 children are projected to enroll in the first grade. This forecast was announced during a department briefing chaired by the Minister of Preschool and School Education, E'zoza Karimova.

Reports from the session highlighted a significant expansion of the digital enrollment infrastructure for public schools this year. The number of districts and cities utilizing online admissions jumped from 64 to 135, while the count of participating schools surged from 1,950 to 5,690. Notably, all schools across the city of Tashkent and the Bukhara province have completely transitioned to the online admissions format.

Simultaneously, registration processes for specialized tracks—including President School, creative, and sports schools, the Al-Beruni International Boarding School, and the National Program framework—are also being conducted online. To date, these elite institutions have received over 150,000 applications.

Entrance examinations for these selective academies will take place nationwide from June 15 through July 31. Under the updated protocols introduced for this testing cycle, the first-round examinations for President schools will be held in a single shift to optimize administration.

A total of 14,826 applications have been received for admission to the "Jasorat" (Courage) schools, with the highest numbers of applicants recorded in the Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan provinces.

The department briefing also addressed the logistics of organizing summer camps. To streamline operations, dedicated "Summer 2026" headquarters have been established within the central apparatus of the Ministry as well as across its regional divisions.

During the session, provincial officials and heads of district and city educational departments were instructed to coordinate closely with local administrations. The goal is to ensure high-quality recreational and wellness environments for more than 156,000 children across 1,242 day camps established at public schools.

For context, plans for this season involve accommodating 158,000 children across 179 residential summer camps managed by the Federation of Trade Unions. Additionally, 7,000 children will attend 21 wellness camps run directly by the Ministry. Throughout their stay, students will follow a specially curated 12-day model curriculum designed to balance rest and personal development.
