Traffic on the Kamchik Pass was temporarily restricted to a single lane today after heavy rainfall triggered a mudslide carrying rocks and debris onto the highway. The specialized state road maintenance enterprise, Kamchikavtoyul, announced the disruption.
The mudslide occurred at the 129.9-kilometer mark of the A-373 highway (connecting Tashkent, Ohangaron, Angren, Kokand, Shahrixon, and Andijan) following intense downpours. A mixture of soil, gravel, and rock cascaded down the mountainside onto the roadway, forcing traffic flowing from the Fergana Valley toward Tashkent to be routed temporarily through just one lane.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, specialized crews under the ministry's leadership are already on-site clearing the debris to fully restore normal traffic operations.
