In the city of Kokand, Fergana province, a 19-year-old girl has been criminally sentenced for committing murder. According to court documents, J.U., 19, had been locked in a long-standing feud with her sister-in-law, O.U. Driven by a desire for revenge, J.U. attacked her sister-in-law with a kitchen knife at around 3:00 AM on December 3, 2025, stabbing her multiple times in the upper back, shoulder, and arms. O.U. sustained severe injuries and tragically passed away.
J.U. was taken into police custody following standard legal procedures on December 4, 2025, and was placed in pre-trial detention that same day.
In court, the teenager confessed to the crime and expressed deep remorse. Her guilt was conclusively proven through eyewitness testimonies, forensic medical findings, and other concrete pieces of evidence.
By a verdict of the Kokand City Criminal Court dated April 16, 2026, J.U. was found guilty of committing the offense stipulated under Part 1 of Article 97 of the Criminal Code (Intentional Homicide). She was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The Court of Appeals has since upheld the original sentence, leaving it unchanged.
