On May 6, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kyiv hosted a meeting with leading Ukrainian entrepreneurs, the Dunyo Information Agency reported.

The event brought together executives and top managers from over 60 companies, including many featured on the Forbes Ukraine Top 100 list. Among the participants were representatives from MEGOGO (streaming services), MTI Group (retail, IT, and logistics), UNIT.City (innovation park), MHP (food production), Uklon (ride-sharing), Biosphere Corporation (household and hygiene products), Darnitsa (pharmaceuticals), and Idea Bank.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Alisher Kurmanov, briefed the attendees on the country’s current investment climate, highlighting the incentives available to foreign investors, the nation’s growing economic appeal, and its transport and logistics infrastructure.

According to the agency, Ukrainian business leaders showed significant interest in Uzbekistan’s current economic model, particularly the tax and institutional benefits offered to investors, as well as ongoing reforms in the industrial and IT sectors.

Representatives from companies already established in the Uzbek market—such as MEGOGO, Yuria-Pharm, Uklon, and Sigma Software—expressed their intent to expand operations and increase their investments. Additionally, Denis Golubchykov, Director of Sona Pharma, announced that the company plans to introduce a new portfolio of innovative ophthalmology products to the Uzbek medical market starting in January 2027.

Uklon CEO Sergey Grishkov revealed that the company has already invested over $10 million into its business development in Tashkent alone. He noted that Uzbekistan’s population growth, the influx of foreign capital, and a sophisticated fintech infrastructure make the country one of the most promising destinations for long-term strategic growth.

Gurgen Karapetyan, Export Director at Darnitsa, emphasized that Uzbekistan remains a key strategic market. He shared that despite the complex and rigorous regulatory requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, the company is currently in the process of registering 27 different products in the country.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ukrainian entrepreneurs were invited to attend the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, scheduled for June 16–18.

According to the report, participants put forward several proposals aimed at elevating economic cooperation between the two nations to a "qualitatively new level." In turn, Uzbek diplomats expressed their readiness to hold individual consultations with each entrepreneur to support their practical projects and help bring their investment initiatives to life.
