The administrative case filed by Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamahmudov against finances blogger Otabek Bakirov has been dismissed. The Yashnabad District Criminal Court in Tashkent announced the decision during a hearing on May 7.

The court ruled that the statute of limitations for charges regarding the dissemination of false information had expired. According to the ruling, the case was closed under Article 36 and Clause 7 of Article 271 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. Specifically, administrative penalties must be applied no later than one year from the date the offense was committed, or, in the case of ongoing offenses, one year from the date of discovery.

The Minister's suit centered on Bakirov’s posts regarding gas supply issues at methane stations, long queues, and the performance of the Avto24 app, which was marketed as a service providing real-time information on fuel availability at CNG stations.

Bakirov previously noted that after an initial criminal complaint was rejected, the Minister filed a new grievance with the Tashkent City Police Department on December 26, 2024. Although the police initially declined to press criminal charges on January 23, 2026, the Tashkent Prosecutor’s Office overturned that decision on March 25. Subsequently, the materials were forwarded to the Yashnabad District Police Department for the administrative review that has now concluded.
