The Tax Committee held a meeting with bloggers to clarify legal requirements regarding the taxation of advertising revenue, the committee’s press service said.

To better understand this sector, the committee compiled a list of the 110 most active bloggers. Of these, 55 are registered as self-employed, 33 as individual entrepreneurs, and the remaining 22 operate as private individuals.

"This structure highlights a mismatch between the bloggers' actual business activities and their legal status," the committee stated.

Tax officials pointed out that the "self-employed" status does not permit the hiring of staff. In practice, however, many bloggers employ administrators, assistants, and other specialists.

The committee also conducted a targeted review of six top-tier bloggers, each with over 3 million followers. In 2025, these influencers posted a combined 360 Instagram stories (averaging five per month) and 184 promotional posts. According to official reports submitted via electronic invoices, their total aggregate income reached 2.7 billion soums, resulting in 110.4 million soums in tax payments.

During the meeting, the committee proposed educational workshops to "explain tax obligations and enhance legal literacy in this field." Officials emphasized the importance of aligning digital content creation with tax laws and ensuring full transparency of income.
