Uzbekistan has been ranked among the countries where beef is relatively affordable, according to the latest data from the Numbeo portal.

In the rankings updated on May 5, which included 101 countries, Uzbekistan placed 66th, with a kilogram of beef priced at $10.86 (approximately 130,000 soums). However, the data shows that beef in Uzbekistan is more expensive than in several other post-Soviet nations, such as Azerbaijan ($10.53), Belarus ($9.25), and Kazakhstan ($8.72).

According to the portal, the most expensive beef is found in Switzerland ($45.58), Norway ($32.89), and Luxembourg ($27.65). Generally, meat in most developed nations is three to four times more expensive than in Uzbekistan. The top 15 spots in the ranking are occupied by countries where beef costs more than $20, including parts of Europe (Germany, Sweden, France, Finland, Austria, Italy, Belgium, etc.), as well as Israel, South Korea, and Singapore.

At the other end of the spectrum, the countries with the cheapest beef are Pakistan ($4.68), Nigeria ($4.73), and Kenya ($5.23).

Numbeo is a user-generated database that collects and publishes figures on the cost of living in various cities and countries worldwide. The service relies primarily on data provided by users, supplemented by some official statistics. Consequently, while the rankings provide a general overview of the global situation, the figures may not always reflect the exact current market prices.
