On May 1, another flight arrived in Tashkent from the United States carrying Uzbek citizens deported for violating U.S. immigration laws, the Dunyo news agency under the Foreign Ministry said.
Reportedly, there were 26 Uzbek nationals on board. As with previous missions, the flight was operated by the American charter airline Omni Air International.
The aircraft departed from El Paso, Texas—located on the U.S.-Mexico border—at 7:08 PM local time on April 29. The journey included several layovers, stopping in Baltimore (USA), Jasionka (Poland), Chișinău (Moldova), Bucharest (Romania), and Yerevan (Armenia).
Dunyo added that the repatriation was the result of "coordinated cooperation between the competent authorities of Uzbekistan and the United States." The statement noted that all organizational and legal procedures, including identity verification, documentation, and safe transport, were processed swiftly.
This follows similar operations earlier this year: 44 Uzbek citizens were deported in January and 65 in March.
