The Ministry of Health has drafted a document to repeal the outdated regulations governing the implementation of the "Electronic Prescription" system. News of this move sparked speculation on social media and across some news outlets, with many assuming the system itself was being scrapped.
According to the explanatory note accompanying the new draft, the electronic prescription system has already been fully integrated into the medical organizations that participated in the trial. Furthermore, a unified procedure for prescribing medication through this system was formally established by the No. 570 Cabinet of Ministers Resolution. Consequently, the original departmental order has become redundant, losing both its practical and legal relevance.
Repealing the old order is intended to resolve inconsistencies between different regulatory acts. Moving forward, all matters regarding electronic prescriptions will be governed exclusively by the government’s higher-level resolution.
The Ministry of Health’s press service confirmed that the system remains in place and noted that a detailed official statement is currently being prepared.
