A 169 bus of Tashkent public transport was destroyed after it caught fire in Uch Kahramon post in Yunusabad district on Wednesday. Video footage from the scene surfaced on social networks.

Two fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene. They arrived at 21:13 and extinguished the fire at 21:23. No one was injured in the fire.

A short circuit in the electrical cables caused the fire to the bus was manufactured in 2013.

The driver dropped off the passengers and attempted to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher, but the fire intensified.

The company has launched an internal investigation.

Bus fires in the capital mainly occur in Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The last time such an incident was reported was in June, when a Mercedes-Benz 132 bus burned down.

In 2014, Toshshahartranshizmat named design flaws among the causes of fires. In 2018, after another fire in the city, the operation of vehicles of this model, manufactured in 2008-2009, was suspended. After inspection, the buses were returned to their routes.
