Eight people died in a car accident on the evening of July 22 in the Kungrad district of Karakalpakstan, the press service of the Interior Ministry said.
GM Lacetti driven by M.N., 30, drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a GM Cobalt driven by U.D., 23. The footage on social networks shows that the first car was completely engulfed in flames.
Both drivers, as well as a 38-year-old passenger in the Lacetti, died at the scene. Five more people - a 49-year-old Lacetti passenger, as well as Cobalt passengers aged 31, 27, 53 and 30 years old, died from their injuries at the local hospital, where they were hospitalized.
