Advertising structures on Tashkent streets that were not legalized before June 1 will be dismantled. This is provided for by the July 16 decision of the Tashkent city mayor Shavkat Umurzakov on the regulation of outdoor advertising facilities.

Reportedly, passports of advertising facilities whose owners did not apply to replace them with new documents are considered invalid. The Cabinet of Ministers ordered that passports be replaced by April 1, but then extended the deadline for Tashkent city until June 1.

The dismantling will be carried out by the Department of Digital Development, which must select a contractor company on a competitive basis to directly perform the work.

Facilities will be disconnected from power, and National Guard officers will help ensure public safety during the work, the statement said.

Dismantled structures will be stored for 30 days. If they are not claimed and taken by the owners within this timeline, they are subject to sale or disposal with the funds received sent to the capital budget.

The dismantling of illegal structures is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
