Turnout at the constitutional referendum held on Sunday, according to provisional info, was at 84.54%, announced at a briefing by the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Zainiddin Nizamkhojaev on Monday.
A total of 16,673,189 people voted out of 19,722,809 registered voters.
90.21% of them voted in favor of amending the Constitution, 9.35% - against.
0.49% of the ballots were deemed invalid.
To date, the process of counting votes in all polling stations, including 55 foreign ones, has been completed, the chairman of the Central Election Commission said.
The referendum was held in full compliance with international standards and norms, as well as the legislation of Uzbekistan. Each voter had the right to free expression of will, he underscored.
He added that serious violations were found in some areas. These are the 226th precinct in the Syrdarya province, the 651st precinct in the Tashkent province, where violations were identified as a result of monitoring by the CEC, as well as the 772nd precinct in Tashkent city, where violations were reported by the media. These violations are studied by the CEC together with the responsible departments.
In general, violations were detected at 0.01% of all polling stations, added Zainiddin Nizamkhojaev.
