The mayor of Tashkent Jahongir Ortiqhodjaev approved a roadmap to expedite the implementation of the agreements reached during the recent visit of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Hungary. The roadmap was adopted to fulfill the order of the Presidential Administration dated December 23.
The roadmap provides for the construction of a standalone industrial zone with all the necessary infrastructure for Hungarian companies. In addition, it is required to work out the setting up of a joint ventures for medical equipment, electronics, components and spare parts at the Technopark. In January, a list of potential Hungarian manufacturers will be formed, who will be invited to Tashkent for negotiations.
According to the document, in 2023-2024, it is planned to supply Hungarian companies with Uzbek knitwear worth $1 million, yarn worth $1 million, dried fruits and vegetables worth $3.1 million and polyethylene granules worth $3.1 million.
During the meeting of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the CEOs of Hungarian companies and banks in early November, he proposed to allocate a separate industrial zone exclusively for Hungarian companies, providing it with all the necessary production infrastructure.
As we reported in November, Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev at a business forum in Paris announced his readiness to allocate a separate industrial zone exclusively for French companies, provide them with preferences and guarantee the purchase of products. He listed five areas for cooperation, including the automotive industry.
